Yo Ho Ho Me Hardies and Mateys, As Well

Avast thar y’all, it’s time to pay tribute to the deck swabbin’ tars of the US Nav-ee and the randy little tunes they like to sing.

While the music is not as good as what’s on the bawdy Sea Chanteys album by the same performer, there are still plenty of swell tunes about “spunky” (note: not synonymous with “peppy”) gals with VD, Guantanamo Bay, and whether or not whiskers are less scratchy on the ass rather than the face.

I see I have your attention!  Then you will want to avast and avail yourself the download here, or preview  one of the tunes from the album, “Didn’t She Ramble” in the box.net widget to the right.

Still learning the new software on a new computer, so this was a very slow process. I seem to have a problem with stereo recordings, so I have sorted out the 4 or 5 mono records I have and will work on those next. But the scratchy mono records are what I do best anyway! The good news is that I had tons of fun preparing this album, and have been inspired to shop for vinyl when I can. The crap music blog continues!

What an awesome album cover!

  1. Now, where can we find said Sea Shanty lp?….Inquiring minds & all…

  2. Eerm, that’s the link for this post (Every Inch A Sailor).
If possible, I ‘d *also* love the even better & bawdier Sea Shanties, because I am a spoiled consumer of the internet age :-)

    Had lots of fun! Thanks!

  4. I hadn’t been doing music lately so I haven’t figured out what’s happening but I do appreciate music I happened to miss the first time, and I do very much appreciate your patience in redoing them.

Thanks for this one. Should be fun. His “bawdy songs” LPs made me chuckle. Do you know how I can get an invite to “vintage standup comedy” blog?
